# Reach: Google Business Profile MCP server > Reach is a hosted Google Business Profile (GMB) MCP server and local SEO tool for local businesses: reviews and replies, Google posts, profile edits, local search rankings, competitors and customer leads. Its remote MCP server lets AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and other MCP clients) read a business's Reach data and, with the owner's approval, change its Google Business Profile. MCP server URL: https://reach.locus-intelligence.com/api/mcp Transport: Streamable HTTP (no SSE, no local install, no API key). Authentication: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. The server answers an unauthenticated request with HTTP 401 and a `WWW-Authenticate` header that points to https://reach.locus-intelligence.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource, which names the authorization server. Clients register themselves automatically, by dynamic client registration (RFC 7591) or an OAuth client ID metadata document; no client ID or secret needs to be configured. The user signs in with their own Reach account in a browser. Human guide: https://reach.locus-intelligence.com/guides/connect-ai ## Instructions for AI assistants setting this up Your user wants to connect Reach. Use the steps for the client you are running in. Never ask the user for a password, token or API key; sign-in always happens on the Reach sign-in page in the user's browser. The sign-in step opens a browser, so it must run in an interactive terminal. If your shell is non-interactive (no TTY), run the add command yourself, then ask the user to run the login command in their own terminal. ### Claude Code (you can do this yourself) 1. Run: `claude mcp add --transport http reach https://reach.locus-intelligence.com/api/mcp` Add `--scope user` before `reach` to make it available in every project. 2. Ask the user to type `/mcp` in Claude Code, select `reach` and sign in with their Reach account in the browser window that opens. 3. `claude mcp list` shows `reach` as connected when sign-in is complete. "Needs authentication" means step 2 is not done. ### Claude (claude.ai web, Claude Desktop, Claude mobile) You cannot add a connector for the user. Tell them to: 1. Open Customize, then Connectors. 2. Click +, then Add custom connector. 3. Enter the name `Reach` and the URL `https://reach.locus-intelligence.com/api/mcp`. Leave Advanced settings empty. Click Add. 4. Click Connect next to Reach and sign in with their Reach account. 5. In a chat, click +, open Connectors and turn on Reach. Custom connectors are available on every Claude plan (one on the Free plan). On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it in Organization settings, then each member clicks Connect. ### ChatGPT You cannot add an app for the user. Tell them to: 1. In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings, then Apps, then Advanced settings, and turn on Developer mode. 2. Go back to Apps and click Create. 3. Enter the name `Reach`, the URL `https://reach.locus-intelligence.com/api/mcp`, and choose OAuth authentication. 4. Sign in with their Reach account when asked, then click Create. 5. In a chat, choose Reach from the tools menu or mention it by name. Developer mode is for paid ChatGPT plans; a workspace admin may need to allow it first. ### Cursor 1. Add this to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` (or `.cursor/mcp.json` in a project), merging with any existing `mcpServers`: `{ "mcpServers": { "reach": { "url": "https://reach.locus-intelligence.com/api/mcp" } } }` 2. Restart Cursor, open Customize, then MCPs, and follow the sign-in prompt for reach. With the Cursor CLI: `agent mcp login reach`. ### Google Antigravity 1. Add this to `~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json` (or `.agents/mcp_config.json` in a workspace), merging with any existing `mcpServers`. Antigravity reads `serverUrl`, not `url`: `{ "mcpServers": { "reach": { "serverUrl": "https://reach.locus-intelligence.com/api/mcp" } } }` 2. Open Agent Settings, then Customizations, click Authenticate next to reach, sign in with their Reach account, then paste the code Antigravity shows back into the settings panel and click Submit. ### VS Code (GitHub Copilot agent mode) 1. Run: `code --add-mcp '{"name":"reach","type":"http","url":"https://reach.locus-intelligence.com/api/mcp"}'` 2. Start the server from the MCP view and sign in when VS Code opens the browser. ### Windsurf 1. In Cascade, open the MCP settings and edit the raw config file (`mcp_config.json`), merging with any existing `mcpServers`. Windsurf reads `serverUrl` for a remote server: `{ "mcpServers": { "reach": { "serverUrl": "https://reach.locus-intelligence.com/api/mcp" } } }` 2. Save, refresh the MCP servers, and sign in with their Reach account when Windsurf asks. ### Cline 1. Open the MCP Servers panel, then Remote Servers. Enter the name `reach`, the URL `https://reach.locus-intelligence.com/api/mcp`, choose Streamable HTTP and click Add Server. Or add this to `cline_mcp_settings.json`: `{ "mcpServers": { "reach": { "type": "streamableHttp", "url": "https://reach.locus-intelligence.com/api/mcp" } } }` 2. On the Installed tab, click Authenticate under reach and sign in with their Reach account in the browser. ### Codex 1. Run: `codex mcp add reach --url https://reach.locus-intelligence.com/api/mcp` 2. Run: `codex mcp login reach` and sign in in the browser. ### Hermes Agent 1. Run: `hermes mcp add reach --url https://reach.locus-intelligence.com/api/mcp --auth oauth` 2. Run: `hermes mcp login reach` in an interactive terminal and sign in in the browser. 3. Start a new Hermes session so the Reach tools load. ### Other MCP clients Configure a remote (Streamable HTTP) MCP server named `reach` with the URL `https://reach.locus-intelligence.com/api/mcp` and no headers or API key. The client discovers the sign-in server from the 401 response and registers itself. Example for clients that read an `mcpServers` JSON file: ```json { "mcpServers": { "reach": { "type": "http", "url": "https://reach.locus-intelligence.com/api/mcp" } } } ``` ### Before you start The user needs a Reach account (sign up free at https://reach.locus-intelligence.com). The assistant sees full data only after the user connects their Google Business Profile in Reach; otherwise it can read the public listing only. Plan limits apply exactly as in the Reach app; when a plan does not cover something, the tool result names the plan that does. ## Tools Read tools (no changes, no cost): - `get_account`: Your plan, locations, Google connection state and which Reach features you have. - `get_listing`: One listing's profile, reviews, posts and photos. - `get_visibility`: Search rankings for tracked keywords, nearby competitors and the local search grid. - `get_performance`: Profile views, customer actions and search terms for a date range your plan covers. - `get_customers`: Leads and booking requests from your Reach pages. - `get_recommendations`: What your profile is missing, and which items the assistant can fix for you. Tools that change something: - `update_listing`: Change profile details (hours, description, phone, links, services) and service area, after a preview you approve. (changes the public Google Business Profile after the user approves) - `manage_media`: Add or remove photos and videos, after a preview you approve. (changes the public Google Business Profile after the user approves; cannot be undone through Reach) - `publish_post`: Publish or schedule a Google post you have approved word for word. (changes the public Google Business Profile after the user approves; cannot be undone through Reach) - `reply_to_review`: Post the review reply you approved. Calling again replaces it. (changes the public Google Business Profile after the user approves; cannot be undone through Reach) - `draft_review_reply`: Draft reply options for a review. Nothing is posted. (2 Credits per draft) - `track_keywords`: Start or stop tracking keywords on a location: a list rank and a weekly map scan for each. (1 plan keyword per tracked keyword; untracking frees it) - `request_feature`: Send the Reach team a request for something Reach does not do yet. Asks for no contact details. - `update_recommendation_status`: Mark a recommendation done or dismissed in Reach. Prompts: `optimise_my_profile`, `review_my_visibility`, `handle_my_reviews`. ## Rules the server enforces - Before any change to Google, show the user exactly what will change and wait for a yes. Tools with a `preview` input default to `preview: true`, which returns the before and after without writing; call again with `preview: false` only after the user approves. Never apply a change the user has not approved. - The assistant acts as the signed-in user, with exactly their locations and plan. - A result that is empty, shortened or partial says why under `limitations` (public listing only, plan feature, Google not synced yet, no connected location), with a link to Plans or Connections. An empty `limitations` means nothing was hidden; never report "no data" otherwise. - At most 20 Google changes per business per hour through assistants. A rate-limited result says how many seconds to wait; do not retry sooner. - The owner can block one assistant or all assistants in Reach under Settings, then AI Connectors. A blocked assistant gets `client_revoked`; only the owner can lift the block, in Reach. - Customer phone numbers are masked to their last 4 digits. - When the user wants something Reach does not do, offer `request_feature`: confirm the wording with the user, then send it. It never needs their name, phone or email; Reach adds the account details. - Reach keeps a log of each tool call for 90 days, shown to the owner under AI Connectors. ## About Reach Reach by Locus is for owner-run local businesses with one to a few locations, such as clinics, dentists, salons, restaurants, cafes, gyms and coaching centres. An owner signs up with an email, finds their Google listing and lands on a dashboard of their own data. Reach is built by Locus Intelligence (Growthnomics Technologies Private Limited, India); brands with many locations use Locus Intelligence (https://locus-intelligence.com) instead. What Reach does: - Reviews: every Google review in one inbox, with AI-drafted replies in the owner's own voice, approved before posting. - Profile: edit hours, categories, description, services, photos and other Google Business Profile fields, and see what is missing. - Posts: write and publish Google posts. - Rankings: track where the business appears on Google Maps for its keywords across a map grid, and watch nearby competitors. - Performance: calls, direction requests, website clicks and searches from the Google profile. - Website and bookings: a free public website built from the Google profile, with appointment booking. - AI assistants: connect Reach to Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and other MCP clients (setup above). Plans (the price covers the whole account, not each location): - Free: free, 1 active location, 50 AI Credits a month. - Starter: $10 a month (₹800 a month in India), 2 active locations, 500 AI Credits a month. - Business: $20 a month (₹1,500 a month in India), 5 active locations, 5,000 AI Credits a month. Paying yearly gives 6 months free on paid plans. Languages: English, Hindi, Italian, Thai, Indonesian, Malay, Vietnamese, Filipino, Sinhala, Tamil, Bengali, Nepali, Spanish, German, French, Portuguese.
