Open your Business Profile, select Performance and pick a time period. The report shows how many people viewed your profile, what they searched for, and how many called, asked for directions or clicked your website. Use it to spot trends over weeks and months, and treat a drop as a reason to check, not proof of a cause.
Open the report
- Go to your Business Profile on Google Search.
- Select Performance.
- At the top, choose a time period for the report.
- Select Apply.
In the Google Maps app, tap Business at the bottom right, then See more next to Performance. Google says performance data is only available for verified profiles. If you manage several profiles, Google lets you select them in Business Profile Manager, choose Actions, then Insights, pick a timeframe and download a report.
What each number means
- Views: how many people viewed your profile on Search and Maps. Google counts a person once a day, and only a limited number of times across devices and platforms.
- Searches: the search terms people used to find your business. Google says this updates at the start of each month and can take up to 5 days to show.
- Calls: the number of times someone clicked the call button on your profile.
- Directions: how many people asked for directions. Google adjusts this count for repeated taps, cancelled requests and spam.
- Website clicks: the number of times people clicked the website link on your profile.
- Messages, bookings and menus: separate conversations, completed bookings, and menu clicks per user, per day.
When a number drops, check these first
A drop is a prompt to check, not a diagnosis. Go through this list before you change anything:
- Season: compare the same period last year, and allow for holidays, exams and weather.
- Category: did anyone change your primary category recently?
- Closed status: is the profile marked temporarily or permanently closed?
- Edits: is an edit still pending, or did Google change your hours or address?
- Suspension or access: can you still manage the profile, and does it still show on Maps?
- Timing: is last month's searches data still arriving?
Calls fell from 120 in February to 80 in March. Views were flat and nothing on the list had changed, but Friday evening hours had been shortened. Action: restore them, then compare April.
What the report does not tell you
Performance shows what people did on your profile. It does not show where you rank from a particular spot, why someone chose another business, or how many calls became customers. For map positions, track rankings from fixed points.
Common problems
- Why do my views look lower than I expected?
- Google says a person is counted only once a day, and only a limited number of times across devices and platforms. Views count people, not every visit.
- Why is last month missing from search terms?
- Google says searches update at the start of each month and can take up to 5 days to show. Check again later in the first week.
- Why is there no performance data at all?
- Google says performance data is only available for verified profiles. Finish verification first.
- Should I act on one bad week?
- Rarely. Short periods swing with holidays and chance. Compare a full month with the same month last year first.

The Insights page in Reach shows what Google reports for your chosen date range: total impressions against the previous period, the split between Search and Maps and between mobile and desktop, a trend of website clicks, calls and direction requests, and the search terms that brought people to your profile.
