How it works
- Save your bulk upload spreadsheet as CSV (in Google Sheets: File, Download, Comma-separated values).
- Drop the file on the checker. It finds the header row by the Store code column and checks every row under it.
- Fix the rows in the error list, or download the list and share it, then upload the sheet in Business Profile Manager.
The checks follow Google's bulk upload field rules: required fields, unique store codes, one of Primary phone or Website, the hours format, full website URLs and the documented limits. Phone numbers are checked for shape only; Google checks them against each country's numbering.
Privacy
Your file is read and checked in your browser and is never uploaded. Only the distinct category names in it are sent to Reach, to check them against Google's category list.
Questions
- Does my sheet get uploaded anywhere?
- No. The file is read in your browser tab. The only thing sent to Reach is the list of distinct category names, so they can be checked against Google's category list for the region you pick.
- Which columns are required?
- Store code, Business name and Primary category are required on every row, plus either Primary phone or Website. Address columns are not flagged when empty, because a service-area business can leave them out.
- What hours format does Google accept?
- 24-hour ranges such as 09:00-17:00 or AM/PM ranges such as 09:00AM-05:00PM. Separate two ranges on one day with a comma, and enter X or leave the cell empty for a closed day.
- Why is a category marked unknown?
- The name does not match any Google category for the region and language you picked. Category names must match Google's list exactly, so check the spelling or pick the region where the business is.
