How it works
The writer turns the facts you type into one post draft. You edit it and publish it yourself.
- Choose the post type: an update, an offer or an event.
- Type your business name, the type of business and the facts, including any dates.
- Pick the language and write the draft. Edit it until every detail is right.
- Copy the text into a new post in your Google Business Profile, add a photo and publish.
What you give and what you get
A Business Profile post puts your news where people already look for you on Google Search and Maps. Google offers three kinds, each with its own fields:
- Update: general news with a description, an optional photo or video, and an optional button such as Book or Call.
- Offer: a promotion with a title and start and end dates. Google adds a View offer button, and you can add a coupon code, a link and terms.
- Event: something on set dates with a title, start and end dates and times. Without times, Google shows it as an all-day event.
Google archives a post after six months unless it has a date range, in which case it follows those dates.
You get one post text in the language you picked, shown the way a post reads on your profile, with a counter against the length limit. You can edit it, copy it, or regenerate a fresh draft from the same facts.
Method and limits
The draft comes from Reach's post drafting service, which follows these rules:
- Use only the facts you typed. It never adds a price, date, phone number, link or claim of its own.
- Never say an offer or event has already happened unless you said so.
- Stay within 1,500 characters, the same limit Reach's post composer uses.
To keep the tool free, use is limited per day for each visitor, and the tool pauses for everyone if a day's total is reached. Each draft and each regenerate counts as one use.

Privacy
What you type is sent to the drafting model once to write the post and is not stored by Reach. The draft lives in this page until you close it.
To enforce the daily limits, Reach keeps a counter keyed by a one-way hash of your network address and of a random device cookie. The counters hold none of your text and expire on their own.
Worked example
One illustrative post of each type, written for this page from made-up facts, to show how the facts turn into a post.

Questions
- Is the Google post generator free?
- Yes, with no sign-up. Use is limited per day to keep it free for everyone; if you reach the limit, the page tells you and you can come back the next day or sign in to Reach.
- Does this tool publish the post to my Business Profile?
- No. It writes a draft for you to copy. To publish, create a post in your Google Business Profile and paste the text, or connect your profile to Reach to publish and schedule from there.
- How long can a Google Business Profile post be?
- The writer keeps drafts within 1,500 characters, the same limit Reach's post composer uses, and the counter under the draft shows how close you are. Shorter posts are easier to read on a phone.
- Which post type should I use?
- Use an offer for a deal with dates, an event for something that happens at a set time, and an update for everything else, such as new services, hours or recent work.
- Can I write posts in languages other than English?
- Yes. Pick the post language before you write the draft. Your business name stays exactly as you typed it.
- Will the draft make up details about my business?
- It is instructed to use only the facts you type. Still, read every draft before you publish it: you are the one who knows whether each detail is right.
