How it works
Google turned off the free websites it made from Business Profiles (the business.site pages) in March 2024, and their links stopped redirecting in June 2024. Many small businesses lost the only website they had. This tool builds the replacement from the same listing, so you can see it before you sign up.
- Search for your business and pick it from the Google results.
- Reach reads your listing once and lays it out as a one-page mobile site.
- Scroll the preview the way a customer would on their phone: the call, WhatsApp and booking buttons are where they will be.
- Press Publish, create a free account and connect your Google profile. The website editor opens on this site, ready for your photos.
What you give and what you get
You give one thing: your Google listing. From it the preview uses:
- Your business name and main category, which become the page title and the line under it.
- Your address and map point, shown as an address card with a Google map and directions.
- Your phone number, which drives the Call and WhatsApp buttons.
- Your opening hours, shown on the page and used as the times customers can book.
You get a live preview of the whole page at phone width. The words that are not on your listing, such as the welcome line and the common questions, are Reach's defaults for your kind of business, and you can change every one of them in the editor.
Method and limits
The kind of business decides the wording. A dentist gets "Book appointment" and clinic questions; a salon or a shop gets wording that fits it. The type comes from the main category Google lists for you, and a business Google cannot place gets neutral wording.
Booking times come from your Google opening hours, split into visits of the default length for your kind of business. After you publish, you choose the length, the days and whether booking is on at all.
Privacy
The preview reads your listing from Google once and is not saved. If you close the page, nothing about your business is kept.
When you press Publish, only the business you picked (its Google place ID, name, address and map point) goes with you to sign-up, so the editor can open on it.
Questions
- What happened to business.site websites?
- Google turned off the websites it made from Business Profiles in March 2024. For a few months the old links sent visitors to the Business Profile instead, and that ended in June 2024. The profile itself kept working.
- Is the website really free?
- Yes. Publishing is part of Reach's Free plan. A free site carries a small "Powered by Reach" link at the bottom; paid plans remove it.
- Why are there no photos or reviews in the preview?
- The preview uses only the facts on your listing. Photos are yours to choose: after you sign up you upload them, and your Google reviews show on the site once you connect your profile.
- Can customers book from the site?
- Yes, once you turn booking on. Customers pick a time inside your opening hours and you get the request in Reach. The preview shows the booking card the way it will look.
- Do I need to connect my Google Business Profile?
- To publish, yes. Connecting proves the business is yours and keeps the site in step with your listing when you change your hours or phone number on Google.
- Can I use my own domain?
- Not yet. Your site gets its own Reach address that you can share, print on a card or add to your Google profile as your website.
