How do Gemini, ChatGPT and Claude compare for a Business Profile?

What does the table mean for your shop?
Gemini's advantage is that it is already there. If you meet Google's rules, you accept one connection and start asking, with no Reach account. The Gemini connection guide lists the six requirements and the languages.
Its limit is the list it works from: profile basics, reviews, posts and insights. Nothing on that list tracks where you rank on the map or shows how you compare with the businesses around you, and it needs exactly one verified profile. That makes Gemini a good editor and a thin analyst.
That gap is what Reach's MCP server fills for ChatGPT and Claude. They can read your rank history and local grid, set your profile against nearby competitors and manage up to five locations from one chat, on top of the same edits, replies and posts.
Why can't ChatGPT or Claude connect to your profile by themselves?
Neither has a Google Business Profile option. To read or change a profile they need an MCP server, a connector that holds the Google access and lets the assistant call a fixed set of actions. Reach by Locus runs one for Google Business Profiles.
Setup is the same idea in both: add the server address, sign in with your Reach account, and ask in plain words. There is no API key and no Google Cloud project. Follow the steps for ChatGPT or Claude.
Reach doesn't run inside Gemini today, and Gemini isn't a supported Reach client. If you already use Gemini's connection, you can keep it and use Reach with ChatGPT or Claude for rank and competitor work.
Which one should you pick?
- One verified profile, a personal Google account and basic edits: Gemini. It needs no setup beyond the connection.
- Rank tracking or competitor data: ChatGPT or Claude with Reach. Gemini doesn't list either.
- More than one location: ChatGPT or Claude with Reach. Gemini refuses owners with more than one verified profile.
- A work account, the UK or the European Economic Area, or a language Gemini skips: ChatGPT or Claude with Reach, which has none of those limits.
- No paid ChatGPT plan: Claude. Its Free plan allows one custom connector, which is enough for Reach.
What does the choice look like for a two-branch owner?
Ravi, two physiotherapy clinics in Bengaluru
Ravi asks Gemini about his business and the connect option never appears, because both clinics are verified under his account and Google's help page says the feature is not available to owners with more than one verified profile.
He adds Reach to Claude on the Free plan, moves to Reach Starter (₹800 a month) for the second location, and connects both clinics. He asks which branch ranks lower for "physiotherapist near me" and who is ahead of it. Claude answers from Reach's tracked ranks and local grid, something Gemini's list never covered.
For the weekly chores he asks the same assistant to list unanswered reviews for each branch and draft replies, and approves each one before it is posted.

- Give both the same review and compare. What changes your result more is what each can reach on your profile, and with Reach they reach the same things.
- Do I need a paid Reach plan?
- Not for one location. Free covers 1 location and 50 credits a month. Two or five locations need Starter (₹800 a month in India, $10 elsewhere) or Business (₹1,500 or $20).
- Is Gemini's connection free?
- Google's help page lists no price. You need a personal Google account and have to meet the requirements in the table.
