To use AI on your gym's Google profile, connect Reach by Locus to ChatGPT or Claude once. The assistant then reads your real reviews, hours and posts, and can publish a class post, answer a crowding complaint or set holiday hours from one prompt. Six gym prompts are below.
How do I connect ChatGPT or Claude to my gym's Google profile?
Add Reach by Locus as an app in ChatGPT (paid plan, Developer mode, on the web) or as a connector in Claude, then sign in with your Reach account. The Free Reach plan covers one location, which is one gym. Steps are on the ChatGPT and Claude pages, and the MCP overview lists everything the server does.
What can the assistant do on a gym profile?
| Gym job | What the assistant does |
|---|---|
| Reviews | Lists reviews with no reply, drafts replies (2 credits each) and posts the one you pick. |
| Class and trial posts | Publishes an update, offer or event post with a Book or Sign up button, now or at a time you set on plans that include scheduling. |
| Hours | Shows the old and new regular or holiday hours side by side, then writes them to Google once you agree. |
| Photos | Uploads floor, equipment or class photos from a web link and tells you when a cover or logo upload would replace the current one. |
| Numbers | Reads calls, direction requests and website clicks, and the rank for searches you track. |
Reach by Locus lets an assistant make up to 20 Google changes per hour for each business, and a post cannot be deleted from the chat, so read it before you say yes.
Which prompts work for a gym?
Replace the square brackets with your own facts. Each prompt tells the assistant to use only what you give it and to show the result first.
Class timetable post: "Write an Event post for our new 6:30 am HIIT class starting Monday 2 November: 45 minutes, 14 people maximum, mats provided, beginners welcome. Use only these facts, add a Book button to [booking link], and show me the post before publishing."
Trial offer: "Draft an Offer post for a [3-day] trial pass at [price], valid 1 to 30 November, one per person, new members only, claimed at the front desk. Put those terms in the terms field and add a Sign up button to [link]."
Crowding reviews: "Find reviews from the last 30 days that mention crowding, waiting for equipment or peak hours. For each, draft a two-sentence reply that thanks the member and states what we changed: [change]. Do not argue and do not promise quieter hours."
Trainer reviews: "Find reviews that name a trainer. Draft replies that thank the member and pass the thanks to [trainer]. Say nothing about the member's goals, weight, injuries or attendance."
Holiday hours: "Set special hours: closed on [date], 6 am to 6 pm on 31 December. Show me the old and new hours before you write anything to Google."
Monthly check: "Summarise last month's calls and direction requests, list reviews still without a reply, and compare my profile's hours and services with this fact sheet: [paste]. List every difference."
What do Google's rules and the gym data say?
Event and offer posts need a title plus start and end dates and times, and an update older than six months is archived unless it has a date range (Google's post guidelines). That is why the class prompt names a start date: a timetable post without one fades out of the profile.
Pick the primary category by what members pay for. Google has separate categories for a gym, a fitness center, a yoga studio and a Pilates studio, and the others can sit under additional categories; the category guide covers close pairs.
In the Reach gym benchmark of 11 cities, the median top-three gym had replied to 0% of its reviews, and top-three gyms held a median 89 reviews against 108 at ranks 4 to 20. Most gyms leave reviews unanswered, so a reply stands out, and review count alone does not decide rank. Read the method before comparing your own numbers.
What does a good crowding reply look like?
Illustrative case: a two-star review reads "Good gym but impossible to get a rack after 6 pm." The owner runs the crowding prompt with the change "weights floor bookable in one-hour windows through the app, 20 places per hour". The draft the assistant shows:
Thanks for the honest feedback. Evenings are our busiest time, and since 20 October the weights floor can be booked in one-hour windows through our app, with 20 places each hour. If 6 pm still does not work, message us at [contact] and we will suggest a quieter window.
The reply names a real change, gives a way to follow up and says nothing about the member. Edit the date and the numbers to match your gym before you approve it.

With Reach
Reach by Locus keeps the gym's reviews, posts and hours in one place. The Posts screen publishes updates, offers and events with a Book or Sign up button, now or on a date you set. The Reviews screen lists every review that has no reply, whether you work in the chat or in the dashboard.
