To use AI for your salon's Google profile, connect Reach by Locus to ChatGPT or Claude once. The assistant can then read your services and reviews, rewrite the service list, publish before-and-after posts with a photo, and check that the Book button opens a page where clients pick a time. Six salon prompts follow.
How do I connect ChatGPT or Claude to my salon's profile?
Many salons are run through a manager's or an agency's login. Connect from a Google account with owner or manager access (see how to add a manager), then set up ChatGPT or Claude with your Reach account. Reading the profile is free, and every change is shown before and after before it is written.
Which prompts work for a salon?
Replace the square brackets with your own price list and links. The assistant keeps your prices exactly as written.
Service menu: "Read the services on my Google profile and compare them with this price list: [paste]. Rewrite each as a name plus one line saying what is included and how long it takes. Keep every price as I wrote it. Show before and after for each service."
Before-and-after post: "Write an Update post about a [balayage] done this week: [hours] in the chair, from [price]. Say nothing about results lasting or hair health. The client agreed to the photo. Use [photo link] and add a Book button to [booking page]."
Photos: "Upload these four photos as At work, Interior and Team photos: [links]. Show me what will be added before uploading."
Booking link: "Tell me where the Book button on my profile goes and which other booking links are listed. Replace the preferred link with [booking page] and show before and after."
Colour complaint: "Draft a reply to this review. Acknowledge the concern in one sentence, invite them to message [contact] so we can look at it in person, and do not promise a redo or refund. Say nothing about their hair type or what the stylist did."
Reply in their language: "Reply to each unanswered review in the language it was written in, in two sentences, and add an English translation under each so I can check it."
What do Google's rules and the salon data say?
A profile can list up to 10 booking links and mark one as preferred. If Google adds a link from a booking site you never signed up for, the assistant cannot remove it; use Remove Provider yourself (booking link guide).
Google asks that photos represent reality, in focus and without heavy edits, and customers can add photos you cannot delete (photo guide). Get a client's consent before you post their face, and keep a cover photo of the salon itself.
In the Reach salon benchmark, the Malay search in Kuala Lumpur and the Thai search in Bangkok each kept only 1 of the 3 salons that top the English search; Jakarta's local-language search kept all 3. Search your own salon in the language your clients type before you judge your position, and reply to reviews in that language. Only 23% of top-three salons listed a website against 48% at ranks 4 to 20, so a working website or booking link is a gap worth closing (full results).
What does a rewritten service list look like?
Illustrative case: a three-chair salon in Pune pastes its price list into the first prompt. The assistant shows each service before and after, and the owner approves them one by one.
| On Google now | After the rewrite | Why it changed |
|---|---|---|
| On Google now: Hair colour 3000 | After the rewrite: Global colour, roots to ends, about 2.5 hours, from ₹3,000 | Says what is included and that the price depends on length |
| On Google now: Facial | After the rewrite: Cleanup facial, 45 minutes, ₹900 | A client can tell it apart from longer facials |
| On Google now: Bridal | After the rewrite: Bridal makeup trial, 1 hour, book two weeks before the date | Puts the lead time where clients read it |
Every price stayed as the owner typed it. The assistant only added what the price list already said.

With Reach
Reach by Locus can also build the booking page the Book button points to. Clients pick a service and a time on your Reach website, and requests land in the Bookings screen. The Profile screen shows your services, photos and links, and lists what reached Google after each save.
